he award is a tribute to the memory and life path of Józef Oleksy. It is also a point of reference for people who, like Józef Oleksy, perceive the world and politics.
Józef Oleksy was an outstanding figure in Polish politics. He was the Marshal of the Sejm twice, he was the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Minister of the Interior. He was one of the politicians who introduced Poland into a democratic system. In Polish public life, he has become a symbol of dialogue, openness and tolerance for others.
